SI Imaging Services (SIIS) is the exclusive worldwide marketing and sales representative of KOMPSAT series KOMPSAT-2, KOMPSAT-3, KOMPSAT-3A and KOMPSAT-5.
SIIS contributes Remote Sensing and Earth observation industries societies by providing very high resolution optical and SAR images through over 137 sales partners worldwide.
Customers from industries as well as government and international agencies are using KOMPSAT imagery for their missions and researches and achieve good results in several remote sensing applications such as mapping, agriculture, disaster management, and so on. SIIS started its business as a satellite image and service provider and extended its business to KOMPSAT operation Sales teams support existing and potential customers regarding orders and product information. They sign contract with new partners and projects.
Each sales team has its responsible region as below:
Plan, develop, and implement PR strategies. Write and edit articles for press release, and manage future exhibitions or events. Manage reputation through company marketing on the internet or advertisements.
Improve image quality through thorough quality assessment and post-processing.
Generate products as required types and levels for customers’ needs.
Receive orders from Order Desk and provide feasibility studies to give information
about imaging timeline. Distribute products for public purpose, and perform pre-quality check of the imagery.
Moreover, additional process is performed such as image color correction.
Plan satellite imaging and receive files such as bus operation parameters, contact schedule,
and orbit data for imaging plan. Review imaging plans by checking revised orders,
MPT(Mission Parameter Table), GPF(Guidance Parameter File) etc.
Process KOMPSAT data received from the satellites and calculate amount of clouds.
Perform radiometric and geometric quality assessment, and process products on
customer’s request. Generate catalogue, and manage raw data.
Monitor image for quality control. Perform geometric and radiometric calibration.
For geometric calibration, checking location, pointing accuracy, and monitoring radiometric
are done by checking uniformity, dynamic range etc. Spatial accuracy is improved or maintained
by measuring MTF, SNR, PSF using focus calibration.
Operated as ‘Order Desk’ to filing/packing orders, liaising with customers to ensure
total customer satisfaction. Effectively manage lists of imaging requests and order materials.
Manages image processing hardware and software, and operate network. Uploads papers on web, and manages KsatDB site.
Set of day-to-day activities that are related to financial planning, record keeping & billing, personnel, physical distribution and logistics.
